haha, I have a list of really great excuses to why i have been MIA for quite some time.
-two weeks on the beautiful beaches of Cancun
-computer at the shop for two weeks
-general lame blogger, prefer to hear of other people's lives
-pushed my training to new heights, lots more hours, three weeks of big ass bike build
-living every day as a gift on my friend's cancer journey
-my life takes me so far away from the computer for most of the day
ok............
Cancun, yum yum!! managed to stay fairly on track with my training and lots of cold coronas and lime to carb some great workouts including running a half marathon myself and hitting my second best time ever.
I swam laps at 7 am and often people would be out claiming their chairs and drinking their coffee poolside watching me. It was an infinity pool, so every second breath , the ocean and the horizon would catch my eye and it felt like i could have been swimming out in the surf. One particular morning, the sun was covered in a orange pink greyhaze of cloud and the sky was looking a little ominous. I was about 1000m into my workout when it started to rain, people started to clear away, but it didn't bother me. On this morning the water was my church, i was in the zone and i remember feeling the drops and saying, "bring it"! "IT" was brought! Like a huge tap was turned on and everyone scattered to the palapa to wait out the rain. I had about 600m to go and i powered through it, feeling an amazing energy and determination. By the time I got to my cooldown laps, the rain had stopped and the sun was blazing. i got out and was approached by a fellow who said he thought that i looked like I was either on a serious mission or possessed, if he only knew, probably a little of both!! It was a cool way to start the day, feeling totally energized and alive.
My friend's cancer has spread to his brain which is bringing all kinds of new and unexpected challenges. Also, all kinds of gifts. I am getting to know many new parts of myself while joining them on this journey. I am finding my training to be a great respite from this as well as a great source of rejuvenation and reflection. I am living life pretty deep these days and it is awesome.
It is good to be back in this world of insane, hardcore, inspiring people. I wish you all the best of luck in your quest to be your best.
Talk soon!
Tish

Yay! You're back! Cancun. I'd love to go and visit my buddy Alex that lives there. To say nothing of the beaches.
If you're in swimming, why would anyone let a little rain make them stop! You aren't going to get any wetter. But I guess the pansies that are decorating the pool have no stones.
That is too bad about your friends cancer. Seems like it's everywhere these days. You are doing exactly the right things to keep your balance.
Talk soon is right! Don't forget, blogging is a habit, just like working out, or brushing your teeth.
I love Cancun
I may be weird, but I love swimming in the rain more
Sorry to hear about your friend
well, well, well ...look who has finally shown up?? Nice to hear from you and I was just wondering this morning how things were going with J and D. See ya later....
